Crown Heights, Brooklyn · Telehealth in New York

About Shlomo Rappoport, LMSW

I came to this work through life, not just through school. After fifteen years running a business and four decades of living fully, I found my way to clinical social work for a simple reason: I genuinely love people.

Not as a professional posture — as a way of being.

Who I work with

I specialize in sexual compulsivity, healthy sexuality, and attachment wounds — the places most people are too ashamed to bring anywhere else. I work with individuals and couples in person in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and by telehealth across New York State.

How I work

My approach is psychodynamic at its core, woven through with a dozen specialized modalities. The through-line never changes: I walk alongside you, not above you. Therapy with me is not something done to you — it is a real partnership.

Beyond the therapy room

Bringing these conversations forward

I speak regularly for shuls, schools, and organizations — trusted by Chabad, UJA-Federation of New York, Ohel, and Tomchei Temimim — and host Conversations with Shloimie, a podcast on mental health, relationships, and the human experience. I see all of it as one thing: bringing these conversations out of the shadows.

I hold a Master of Social Work from Yeshiva University, and practice under the supervision of Eliezer Kaufman, LCSW (License #087721). I work in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, German, and conversational Spanish.
